Project Sign Off: "Happy Animals"
My project sign-off for my project is now completed. I will be discussing through my research about artist Andy Warhol and his pop art work with animals. In this activity, I will be looking at how the artist is portraying animals in pop, mainly in his portfolio on endangered species. Since my project will be closely related to his work, I will analyze and explore ideas for showing these animals and how the idea affects the recipient.

"Happy Animals" initial research: Andy Warhol
I look at Andy Warhol's work as my research for my grand project. I chose his 1985 portfolio which featured 10 screen-prints on Endangered Species. it was a project commissioned by the New York Gallerists and Environmental Activists for the first time. The work was aimed at drawing attention to endangered animals in the world.
Warhol, by throwing everyday objects, advertisements, film actors and news media into bright colors into his works, tries to show us a new perspective and relationship with the object and its image. It is the same with the Endangered Species of the artist. Psychedelic luminous colors and energetic lines bring its theme to life. Endangered animals are represented in the same way as movie and TV stars as cultural icons impossible to ignore.
Andy Warhol perfectly understands and knows the power of a well-received image. He was able to collect considerable funds to protect these animals and make the recipients aware of the problem. The artist has always been a lover of animals and nature and we have seen it more than once in his work. He owned the dogs himself, painted their portraits and you can see his love in the way he photographed and painted them.
African Elephant (F. & S. II.293);Pine Barrens Tree Frog (F. & S. II.294);Giant Panda (F. & S. II. 295);Bald Eagle (F. & S. II.296);San Francisco Silverspot Butterfly (F. & S. II 298);Orangutan (F. & S. II. 299) ;Grevy’s Zebra (F. & S. II.300);Black Rhinoceros (F. & S. II.301);Bighorn Ram (F. & S. II.302)
That is why Andy Warhol and his works are my inspiration in my project. Like him, I would like to draw the viewer's attention to the problem of cruelty towards pets. I will try to show animals in similarly bright colors to catch the viewer's attention.

SMART objective Fine Art Happy Animals
Fot: catpopart
For my Fine Art project " Happy Animals" I will create 6 portraits of animals in unusual, very diverse colours and I will present my work in a gallery on my website. I will draw them using digital graphic program (to be decided) and it will be in a PoP Art style. I will try to present my digital work to showcase the skills I will develop over the term. My project will be completed by the deadline at the beginning of December
Idea generation - Milanote : Major Project
Milanote is an online program for making visual and digital notes. It is a very good solution to gather all your inspirations or things that interest us in one place and in a nice setting. I created my Milanote board to show my ideas and research for "Happy Animals" project. I'm very interesting in color expression in Hariton's Pushwagner artwork i will use the idea in my project. At first, I thought pop art that flourished in the 1960s and 1970s would not reach the younger generations. however, when looking for information, I found some exhibitions from the 2000s and I can see that pop art is inter-generational. It all depends on the individual taste of the recipient.

ideas generation for major project
For my Major Project I would like to focus on how to present animals in the style of pop art. I love animals and I would like each of them to have a wonderful and colorful life. Unfortunately, people who should take care of their pets often do not care about their fate. I would like my project to be a symbol of both our wonderful hairy friends and how our life becomes colorful when we have them close, as well as their colorful life when they are loved and happy with us.
I did a little research and noticed that pop art has a lot of variations from the old ones in the 1960s to the completely different ones already in the 2000s and even mixed both styles together.
Many prominent pop art artists often immortalized animals in their works. One of the lovers was Andy Warhol who loved cats and his beloved dog Archie. Thanks to his creative love for animals, my vision of creating a pop art project "Happy animals" was born. As I mentioned earlier, I can use different forms and styles depending on my preferences.
Andy Warhol Cats and Dogs (Broadway), Early 1976
POM Mid 1976
FERROUS September 1975
POM Mid 1976
FERROUS September 1975
I would also like to try for my project the graphic editing and drawing program for digital art and 2D animation "Krita" suggested by my teacher. I also try out other programs such as "Corel" painter.
When I consider all the ideas and decide which style and page suits me best, I will write in the next posts.

Final Advert Task
My advert was created in pixlr and I will show the whole creative process step by step in here.
I opened the pixlr page which looks like the below. Than I clicked on 'open image'.
Then I uploaded my chosen photo from Pexels website full of free stock images. I love animals that is why I chose this one.
In the next step I created my logo and company (charity) name in Tailor Brands website. I chose the logo type and look, font and colours.
Next I added my logo onto my picture already uploaded in pixlr.
Then I added a tagline and then I changed the font and size of the text. I choose this tagline because in my opinion it fits the picture perfectly.
In this step I added a sort of next tagline to give a closer look to my point of view and to see the purpose of this advert more clearly.
This is how it looks in the final stage. My complete advert. It may not be perfect but I think there should be more campaigns like this against pet abuse. Only we can improve their fate.

Here is the end result.....
Reflection:
The whole preparation process was fairly straightforward. Unfortunately, the most difficult thing was to photograph the burning matches because they didn't want to burn because of the paint they were painted with. Next time I should also work on the background because the effect I did here does not satisfy me in the end.

A sequence of four photographs was made in 1968 showed head of a man with closed eyes resting on reflective surface. Each following picture shows his head covered with flowers more. Under each photograph is an initial, spelling together as "AIDS". He was trying to show us a story about AIDS crisis in four photographs.

Sequential Images: Individual Work - War on the Ukraine
We talked and learned all week about sequential images in photography. Our task was to create our own project which we had already planned during the classes.
Unfortunately, my idea for the project came from the horrors of this world and quite recent events. The war in Ukraine has been one of the most famous topics in recent months. The photos show matches in the color of the Ukrainian flag and the color of the Russian flag, which are on fire. With these photos I wanted to show the great strength of Ukraine and a failing Russia. It's hard to read and see such horrors in the 21st century. I believe that this is a huge problem that should not happen and innocent people should not die. for the defense of their country they pay the highest price - life!
If you want to read about it go click here: war
How I did it?
I painted the matchsticks with acrylic paint.
I glued the matchsticks to the black surface, set a black background, I lit the matches, watching them burn, took pictures of the entire process. I used the camera on a Xiaomi 8 pro phone auto settings. On these contact sheets you can see the whole process of my work.
Out of all these photos, I chose 6 that showed my idea the most in this task. In the next post you will be able to see the end result of my work.

In class we discuss sequential images in Photography and I worked with my partner to create sequential images using mobile phone photography. I began by shooting images using these settings on my phone. I then added my photos to google drive and then download them to my desktop as jpg that I could create contact sheets on Photoshop.
On Photoshop
I clicked on file then I scrolled down to automate and then contact sheet and then Photoshop automated my contact sheets. I then downloaded my contact sheet to my desktop so I could add them to my blog spot here.

My name is Agata Sibielak and this year I started my fine art studies at de Montfort University in Leicester.
I paint pictures mainly with acrylic paints on canvas and I also create works using a white highlight pen on a black background. In my work and in the work of artists who inspire me I am looking for a pinch of romance but mainly attention to every detail. Realism is my greatest goal that I will strive for in my work, so Jean-Honorรฉ Fragonard's work and his paintings full of romanticism and realism inspire me and motivate me to further develop my skills.
