"Happy Animals" initial research: Andy Warhol

I look at Andy Warhol's work as my research for my grand project. I chose his 1985 portfolio which featured 10 screen-prints on Endangered Species. it was a project commissioned by the New York Gallerists and Environmental Activists for the first time. The work was aimed at drawing attention to endangered animals in the world.

Warhol, by throwing everyday objects, advertisements, film actors and news media into bright colors into his works, tries to show us a new perspective and relationship with the object and its image. It is the same with the Endangered Species of the artist. Psychedelic luminous colors and energetic lines bring its theme to life. Endangered animals are represented in the same way as movie and TV stars as cultural icons impossible to ignore.
Andy Warhol perfectly understands and knows the power of a well-received image. He was able to collect considerable funds to protect these animals and make the recipients aware of the problem. The artist has always been a lover of animals and nature and we have seen it more than once in his work. He owned the dogs himself, painted their portraits and you can see his love in the way he photographed and painted them.

 African Elephant (F. & S. II.293);Pine Barrens Tree Frog (F. & S. II.294);Giant Panda (F. & S. II. 295);Bald Eagle (F. & S. II.296);San Francisco Silverspot Butterfly (F. & S. II 298);Orangutan (F. & S. II. 299) ;Grevy’s Zebra (F. & S. II.300);Black Rhinoceros (F. & S. II.301);Bighorn Ram (F. & S. II.302)

That is why Andy Warhol and his works are my inspiration in my project. Like him, I would like to draw the viewer's attention to the problem of cruelty towards pets. I will try to show animals in similarly bright colors to catch the viewer's attention.
