Final "Happy Animals" project and reflection

When i finished editing, altering and beautifying my pets in Corel and Krita it was time to add them to my website and create a portfolio.

Here are 6 of my finished works:

Here is described why I chose this topic and what I would like to draw the attention of recipients.

Happy Animals is a project of  6 works created in Pop Art style to draw the recipient's attention to the problem of cruelty against domestic animals.

In the modern world, a pet is almost a member of the family. We love them and want the best for them. But can you be sure that the way you treat your four-legged friends and the choices you make on their behalf really serve them?

The unconditional love that our pets give us motivates us to change, take on new challenges and give meaning to our lives, and also encourages the owner to be physically and socially active. Many studies conducted by American organizations prove that pets provide their owners with a wide range of health benefits. Among them, we can highlight their effect on reducing stress and anxiety, they can reduce the likelihood of heart attack and stroke by lowering blood pressure. Horses, for example, are used in hippo-therapy and help in pain relief and psycho-motor coordination in people with disabilities and children with cerebral palsy.

As responsible owners, people, and society as a whole, we have a responsibility to care for all pets, and together we should stand up to cruelty to pets.

Finally, I added the portfolio to my website and this is what the end result of my "Happy Animals" project looks like:

I think everything looks good. The website and portfolio are simple and clear. I would like to reach as many recipients as possible, although I know that the colors I have chosen may not be convincing for people aged 50+. I still have to work on improving my skills in the digital direction but also try to improve the website on an ongoing basis.

The process of creating the website and the project itself was not as pleasant and simple as I thought it would be. I'm not very digitally proficient, so many things were difficult for me. I've never had the opportunity to work in drawing programs, nor have I ever created a website. However, I think that now that I have gained some skills and experience, it will be much easier for me to try to further develop my skills in this direction. As an artist in the 21st century, I need to stay up to date with technology and the digital world because it's not just paper and canvas that count these days. I am very grateful for the opportunity to learn new things through this project as well as the whole digital art subject. I still need to work on a lot of things and, above all, devote more time to it. The project itself was a very interesting experience and learning for me. I am satisfied with the final result, although I know that there are still many things I need to improve in the future.

My website Feedback

We tested each other's websites today and everyone had to give each other feedback they like what they didn't. This was to impreve our pages to make them more user-friendly. Here is my result:

As you can see most of my colleagues thought the site was  "excellent" overall, but with a slight difference they also thought it was just "fair". Unfortunately, I did not meet the tastes of slightly younger generation than me.

I am very happy that when it comes to navigation and usability they are "excellent". So everything works as it should from the technical side. 40% that it's "good" also satisfies me.

Here, when it comes to layout, design and typeface, 33.3 % voted "excellent" and "okay" equally. A little less just "good" and unfortunately there was also one person who did not like it at all. I am not able to say what she/he meant exactly, but I will definitely have to work on these aspects and improve  them.

I got the most votes here on my bio/my page for "good". It's not bad but it's not perfect either. Over time I will have to update the photo or when I gain some new experience update the information about myself.

My contact page is "excellent" and "good" in equal measure and only "okay" for one person. Everything apparently looks good and there are no problems with operations and organizations.

When it comes to the most important part for me, portfolio/gallery, I received a very large majority of votes for "good". It's not bad, but I would like people to be delighted with my work. Here I have to put in a lot of work not only when it comes to the website, but I think also about how I present my works. As an artist, I have to put more effort into improving the image so that it is more delightful for the audience.

Here I conclude that all links to social media work and are visible to everyone without problems.

The vast majority of people reviewed my website on a PC desktop, but also one person on a phone and another on a tablet.

Unfortunately, I don't know how it happened but I didn't put it in the comment section form. I don't have constructive and specific feedback on particular issues or suggestions from fellow reviewers. Next time, I must remember to add this section because it's the only way I'll know exactly what the audience thinks about my website.

Final Reflections on Project

To sum up, the last term in the Art Portfolio module, i.e. the project of creating abstract sculptures of marine animals, was a really enric...
